TOLES - Test of Legal English Skills
There are 2 TOLES exams - TOLES Advanced and TOLES Foundation. The tests allow lawyers and law students to prove their ability to cope with everyday practical tasks in English when working in a legal office or studying in the law faculty of a UK or US university.
TOEFL - Test of English as a Foreign Language
The TOEFL test measures ability in the use and understanding of North American English in an academic setting (university/college). "A TOEFL score is an entrance requirement in many north american colleges".
The test is usually taken on a computer, with an alternative paper and pencil version if computer based testing is unavailable.
Trinity English ISE - Integrated Skills in English
ISE I - (Pre-Intermediate / Intermediate), ISE II - (Upper Intermediate), ISE III - (Advanced).

KET - Key English Test
Elementary level - the first level of the five Cambridge Main Suite examinations.
There are two versions of the KET exam: KET and KET for Schools. Both follow exactly the same format and the level is identical. The only difference is that the content and treatment of topics in KET for Schools have been particularly targeted at the interests and experience of school pupils.
PET - Preliminary English Test
Pre-Intermediate / Intermediate - "tests the language skills needed to survive in social and work situations".

BEC - Business English Certificates
BEC Preliminary (Pre-Intermediate), BEC Vantage (Upper Intermediate),
BEC Higher (Advanced) are designed to test English language ability used in the context of business.
BULATS - Business Language Testing Service
A multilingual assessment service for companies that require a rapid, accurate means of assessing language skills in English, French, German and Spanish.
BULATS tests cover listening, speaking, reading and writing using a combination of computer-based tests, written papers and face-to-face speaking tests.

ESOL - Skills for Life
Skills for Life Certificates are the UK government's strategy for improving adult literacy, numeracy and ESOL skills in the UK. All qualifications for adult learners of English in the state sector which relate to the strategy must be based on the Adult ESOL Core Curriculum - a development of the National Standards for Adult Literacy.
Certificate can be taken at five levels - Entry 1 - 3 and Level 1 & 2 these equate to Beginner - Advanced (CEF levels A1-C1)
ESOL for Work (UK only)
Developed to meet the needs of employers and to support migrant and settled workers who are in work or intending to work in the UK.
TKT - Teaching Knowledge TEST
The TKT is a test on teaching English to speakers of other languages. It aims to increase teachers' confidence and enhance job prospects by focusing on the core teaching knowledge needed by teachers of primary, secondary or adult learners, anywhere in the world.
